Ups will not ship over 150 lb.

I shipped a 750 to TX from PA in 2 parts.  The bottom end was in a plywood box wraped in rags and plastic (so mr loose oil did not excape), that cost 125.00  The cyl and head, and all the parts I took off the bottom end to get to 150 lb cost another 75.00
These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.

It will have to be crated really well, or strapped/wired really well to a good quality pallet. After that, call a couple of over the road shippers. Most have national territories, so a move that extreme might cost extra.  It's out business so we get a good deal, but we can ship a car engine East of the Mississippi for about $75 (business to business= access by tractor-trailer).  It might be good to check and see what house/furniture movers say.

I just checked to ship a frame 190 miles, Vermont to southern Mass, cost is $112. UPS shipping costs have gone up in the past 3weeks. Ups also quoted a 190  pound shipping box 2x3x4feet at $300+, sooo....they must ship over 60pounds, right? Must be from a terminal to another terminal or something.

Try Greyhound instead, or an independent shipper, like Con-Way, Yellow Frieght etcetc

I crated up my 550 engine in St. Louis and started calling shippers to see how much it would cost to ship to Seattle. The cheapest I found was like $260. I think one even wanted $500! This is a common question here and I haven't heard of anyone that has done it cheap. If there is a place maybe the moderators could add it to the FAQ.

I'm leaving my engine in St. Louis until I buy a house in either Seattle or St.L, or find an affordable shipper. Either way something is moving sometime. Luckily I don't need the engine or the frame it came in. it's for a "someday" project.

Dear God don't ever ship an engine through UPS.  I bought my 650 engine off Ebay for $100, shipping was $125 (it was 4 lbs over but they slipped it through).  When I got it, the clutch cover was shattered, the breather cover was cracked, and both of the #4 header bolts were sheared off at the head.  What a nightmare.

And yes, they will ship over 150, but it will ship freight and not parcel post.  That's why the quote is so much more expensive.

I would go with a national carrier and bite the bullet.

Nope. That's why it's sitting in a crate on the floor in my parents garage. For the price of shipping it to Seattle I can wait and find someone selling a whole bike here in town.
