350/4 seat cover
« on: October 20, 2008, 04:19:51 AM »
I'm so pleased with the job I did installing a seat cover on my 350/4 I had to post some pictures.  I got the cover from:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HONDA-CB100-CB125-CB250-CB350-CB360-CB400-SEAT-COVER_W0QQitemZ350072491363QQihZ022QQcategoryZ35230QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

The pattern isn't right, but at the price ($59.95 AUD) who am I to complain?

I fixed it into place using spike strips from here:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MOTORCYCLE-SPIKE-STRIP-SEAT-RECOVERING-FOR-CLASSICS_W0QQitemZ260300943887QQihZ016QQcategoryZ10460QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

The 350/4 seat is a little tricky as it uses claws to secure the cover.  I had to dremel those off.  The seat pan also has a few bumps, so I cut the spike strips into 2 spike pieces & rivetted 10 of those down the sides.  The strap & trim are from the original seat.  The trim piece had to be carefully cut off the old cover & glued on the new cover.  All in all, I'm pretty happy with the result, which came to about $110.00 AUD all up.

I know this is an ancient thread but it had the photos I needed and everything.  I have a cover for my 550 seat and I'm pretty confident I can get it on and looking pretty good.  My question is how to get the seat strap on.  Do I screw right through the seat cover?
