Guliari 500/550, yes 500/550, seat!
« on: October 21, 2008, 07:13:30 PM »
The guys at classiccyclecity (no web page, hmm) are selling this seat on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270288443342&_trksid=p2761.l1259

I message the seller (one of our members, maybe Nippon?) and he replied back that they'll hopefully be ready in a couple of weeks!!  Drool drool...

Just call me Timmaaaaay!!!

SOHC member - Nippon makes these seats and they are excellent quality - he is very reliable and Id have no hesitation buying anything from him or his Ebay account Classic cycle.

cheers

$160 is not bad when somebody in the parts for sale section wants $100 for an average stock seat. Plus these are sexy as hell...

That's the original, not a repro; it should easily sell for more than that. Of course, not to me... :-\

Hi,
yes, the repro seat is one of my projects.
The next run will have the mouldings/trims, too.

Just bought a new repro from him. The quality seems to be excellent. I've been watching the one above also, but decided to go for the new one. After I paid for it. Ted call me back. he is a very nice personality and seems to know his stuff. He asked me about colors, harness of the foam and the logo locations. He told me it will take 4 days to make it custom, then ship. I'm really happy already. I'll post pics when it arrives.

I had an original Guliari seat on my old CB750.
I got more compliments on the seat than on the bike  ;D

I have an original guliari seat for a 550 in decent condition, though not as good as the one he has on Ebay.
I'll be watching this item closely, as I'll be selling mine as well.

Hey nippon. Are you going to make any seats that will fit the 77k/78k?

Yes, we do!
we are working on a solution. We keep you informed.
Just take a look at the pic.

BTW, we are working on an 'english version' Giuliari style seat with a paintable hump, too.

Does the 550's all have the same stock mounting set-up so this seat will work on, say a '75 550F SS?

It works, if your CB550 has the same seat hinges like the CB500.
We have reproduced the CB500 hinges in stainless steel.
With the bolt plate which you can see in the first photo,....you can 'sandwich' our Giuliari reproduction seat fully functional to the CB500/550 frame.
photo #3 shows our hinge kit for the CB750 frame.
The hinges should work with any GFK cafe seat out there.

I've got a 78 550k and would be super interested in a seat as well.
I've been salivating over the Guliari seat since I first saw one.
