Keep those bikes coming, you're giving me brainstorms! Suzi two-smoke flat tracker build maybe?

That vid reminds me of the photos of my grandma and grandpa when they were young and reckless riding singles on dirt tracks in rapid city, SD.

Like the short pipes on that Hornet!

Handsome bike. Is it set up to race? No lights fore and aft ,one clock (tach?) and bumpstop seat make it look like it means business.

That is the way it came from the factory, ready to go. 8) Not sure it that was the tach or speedo. I don't recall tachs being widely used for some time. I remember that the 57' Indian/enfield Apache had a tach. But I'm not sure when the British bikes really started putting them on their bikes in a big way. Anyone?

Update: I went back and looked that picture over and it looks like that there is a cable coming out of the right engine cover and going up the forks, so I would say that it is indeed, a tach on the Hornet.

Dug these up the other day and promptly lost them in my image file. Can't remember where I got this picture though.

That Indian is pretty out there... in a good way!

OK, hope this isn't redundant.

Hey scunny, appreciate the post of the Indian! 8) Nice to see those old bikes OUT THERE! ;)

Bill, hope you don't mind that I kinda made this photo a bit bigger, I LIKE this bike. ;)

Bill, I wouldn't call the Yamaha Redundant. Back in 67' (when I went to Japan while in the Air Force) I was into 2 strokes and hadn't been totally bitten by the Honda bug yet. :D My intention was to try to buy a Yamaha TD250 Road Racer, make it "Barely" Street Legal, bring it back to the states and wipe up some of thos "so-called" Hot Bikes. ;D I had NO IDEA how much they would cost ($ - Yen, back then was $1 was equal to 360 yen) Most things in Japan was about 1/2 the cost of the same thing in the U.S. I just had that dream and didn't really realize just how involved that undertaking would be AND I found out that those motorcycles could not be bought in Japan (had to do it in the states. ::) U checked with Yamaha, then with Kawasaki, then with Suzuki, then with Honda and that was when I spotted the 66' (in 68') Honda CB72 that I bought. Great bike, but not up to what I had in mind, in the beginning of that quest. Never regretted buying that Hawk either, only regretted that I didn't get hold of period performance parts for that one and KEEP IT! ::) Okay, I'm through ranting about myself.

          Check this one.

 ;D

No I didn't mean redundant as in obsolete; I meant that I hope it hasn't been posted before.

For what 's worth and a bit off topic, an uncle (well, my grandma's nephew) was in the Air Force. He was a navigator for one of the refueling planes, don't recall the type; after my grandmother passed I was going through her stuff, found letters addressed to my great grandmother from him. In one he wrote that they had just refueled one of the last bombers to fly a mission over Vietnam.

Had some pix of views out one one of the little window. I don't know, but that letter always stayed with me.

Yay, cheery stuff! Guess that calls for another dive into my image file!

Would kinda like to see and hear some details on this one. That rear suspension is something.
