I re-read and that's respectable indeed. I'm sure that big mill would pull out of Moss onto the straight real fine too!

Now MRieck, lets not get silly here.I entered the bike in the unlimited junior class.I wasn't up against Miles,or Yvon,or Steve Baker,or Steve Gervais,or Brian Henderson, etc. The great equalizer was the very fact that a TZ700 or 750 required uncommon skill to extract all it had to offer.None of my competition had that,at least not yet.My serious racing was on a production class 400F in the mid to late 70's,and the 750 a few times over the next couple of years.I mainly entered it as a lark to see how it could do on my favourite and a fabulous circuit.Any of you that know of or have seen the track are aware of the infamous corner 2.No less than Sir Jackie Stewart, who raced there many times in a Tyrell F1 and numerous Can Am machines,[the most run what u brung class ever conceived in road racing]would be quoted saying that corner was the scariest in motor racing.Racers and race fans have been and are fortunate to have such an unadulterated real race track in this neck of the woods.I am no pro,I had fun racing as a hobby, and it was very satisfying to beat some full race machines on my self built Cobra with a lic. plate on the back. Now just to be clear ,faster than a TZ,give your head a shake!I beat them around a circuit, never said my bike was faster.Apologies for the ramble, the demon weed eh.  Rock On

Don't worry about it Jim, I think Mike was only teasing. I love my K1 with the worked 836CC engine and Mikes' stage 3 head, but my stock Suzuki GS1000S "Wes Cooley Replica" will normally kill it because of it's better torque, from the larger capacity engine.

Having said that, a mate came for a visit from the country a few months ago and we went for a ride, he on my GS and me on the K1, and I whupped his asss. It's not always just the bike, it's the guy on it, and I had the advantage of having local knowledge of the ride circuit, and both bikes. "Horses for courses" and all that. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks Terry.I shouldn't have got so revved I guess,I just thought MRieck thought I lived in fantasy land.By the way,we have a Bennet's Red Necked Wallaby on the loose up here.He got out of his enclosure when a tree smashed it open in a snow storm .He was last seen 50 K from the zoo where he lived and everyone is worried that the little fella won't survive in the cold as he has been inside at night all his life. Can they handle the cold?Do you know what they eat?Just wondering, think u probably know.   Rock On    Jim

Don'y worry City....I know what you are talking about. Mike Baldwin could have beat me on a moped if I was on his TZ. ;)

A wallaby in Canada? Geez Jim, the poor bugger is probably a popsicle by now, ha ha! In actual fact, they're pretty hardy buggers, we have 'roos and wallabies living in the desert, and up in the mountains where we get some ski-able snow, so he might be ok, as long as one of your meat loving predators doesn't get him, ha ha!

Glad to hear that.He might encounter a black bear, that will probly run for its life having seen this strange looking alien. He will show his face when he is hungry enough,I guess, and will be happy to be taken back home.

No worries mate, and they'll eat any kind of grass, (much to the disgust of Aussie farmers, they're vermin here, do you want a few thousand more?) so I don't imagine he'll go hungry. ;D

WHO'S IN FOR A BIG KIT ???!!!  That's what this is really about. Thank you.

Let's move all the other talk to another thread, ok?

Mike and I make 2 so far. Hope some more of you guys can help make this happen. Remember, all the initial orders for the rods got a $100 discount for getting this thing going.

While I'm good with what i've got, could you price it with your labor as well? I think others would like to know. Including boring the cases, though shipping may start to get in the way there.

If you did the cylinders, could an owner do the cases with a template and a grinder?

Does anyone have a junk donor block we could have. Before doing the sleeves, I want to see how far I can bore it until I see daylight.

Thanks

I have a 970cc block.

I got new sleeves, to try to use the pistons. Off the top of my head I think the sleeves were about 3.025 (can check and post in 24 hrs)

The sleeves I got were just under that, and need some length trimming, so I would have to prep another block to use  them.

Can confirm tommorow same time.

I can use either 970cc or 1000 pistons. Price sounds good.
If you decide on 1000, will O/S be available or is it sleeves every time?
