How much difference is there between stock bars and the Euro vs. Superbars, say on a stock 76 550K?

I have some 1.75 risers that I can add if any are too low.

I would say about 3-4" of rise.

Just added these superbike bars (thanks Nippon!) to my CB750K4....give it a more aggressive feel and tight steering...comfortable so far on short test ride. Need bar end mirrors though....

cheers

Waiting for the superbike bars to come so I can get rid of these stock ape hangers.  Looks like the banjo bolt fits, kewl.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Hi Andy,

your bike looks great with the handlebar and I'm sure you will love the handling and long distance rides, too.
If you want to have a cleaner look and if you want to see more than your own shoulder in the mirror,....
put the mirror upside down. With this handlebar, your tank should be save if you turn the handlebar.

Andy,

Those look great! Those are the Superbike bars not the EURO bars right. I think Ill giv those a try!

Thanks for the pix..

BTW , the motor on your silver gray 750 looks awesome. Is that and sand and polish job? I have done that before . Strip, sand, 220,400,600,800,100,1500,2000,and polish, but always worried about not clearcoating them...

What'd did you do with yours. Looks great!

Nippon - thanks again for sending me the bars and I did try the mirror underneath (as I recalled yours) but I wasnt taken with it - what mirrors are you using? I know I need something else...bar ends perhaps.

Bob - yes these are Superbike bars that Nippon (Thomas) sent me from Germany - great quality!

You mean this motor?

I never painted the engine on this bike - stock black. Leaks a little oil which you cant see in the photo. The tank was stripped then sanded with 400, 600, 1500 then polished with Autosol polish then Mothers. Came out very well. I did clearcoat it with Glisten PC but it didnt last - I got spider runs...now have to remove the Glisten and will re-polish and leave like that....

cheers
Andy

Nippon,

can you PM the info re: ordering some Superbike bars like Andy's.  I assmue they are pre drilled for the wiring?

Do you have grips also? I am looking for soem nice grips. The fatter more comfortable the better. I hate the stock grips, diameter is too small for my hands.

Thanks,

Bob,
They are not pre-drilled. I got sports biek grips from Bike Bandit - under $10. They have a wide selection as do Dennis Kirk.

I like the way the superbike bars look Andy, but what Euro bars are those?  They look like they have the right bend for my seating position.  Or if you don't think you'll use them again, would be interested in parting with them?

Actually Ive removed the superbike bars and reinstalled the Euro bars - they are a better seating position for me as well. As I recall these were cheap Euro bars (<$20) - found the website on here...but dont recall the thread sorry. I used these Euro bars for going to mid-Ohio from Boston this year and 700 miles each way at 80mph+ was very easy with these bars.

**EDIT - found my original order:

Handlebars: H. European
Chrome
(Shipped)

from...

http://ridenow.resultspage.com/search?af=sec_parts&w=european

Seems prices have increased by a $1 or so  ;)

cheers

I'm with Mystic1 on this, I find apehangers the most comfortable bars on long distances and surprisingly give all the control you could want.
Not that they suit all bikes and the cafe boys need something low slung.
Gave up on Z bars a long time ago after a return trip to Wellington, spent most of that trip wishing I had my old bars.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

I own a '77 CB750F Supersport, has anyone used clip-on handlebars?
How can I work around that fork bracket holding up the headlight?
Thanks

Mostly, you can't. Requires removal of the fork ear and use of substitute headlight mount. Exposes nasty rusty fork tube on some models, maybe not yours.

That's why clubmans are used, among other reasons.

I have seen pseudo clipons that fasten to the top clamp bolt and the top fork tube nut(s). No links though.

Could the tubes be slid up a bit to expose enough of the tube for the clip-ons to mount there?
