New from SC
« on: October 24, 2008, 07:12:47 AM »
I have been reading this forum and receiving a lot of help from it for about six months. I have a 1974 Honda CB550. As a college student I don't have a ton of money to spend on mechanics so with a clymer manual and a lot of time I have had to teach myself how to repair/rebuild this bike. It's been a long ride but I have learned quite a lot.

I highly recommend the download-able shop manual on this site.  I have a cb500 and the shop manual has been nice for the few projects I've started on the bike so far.  The clymer book seems pretty good, but it's good to have two sources because sometimes things aren't always clear.  Also, there are a couple of different wire diagrams for download that are really helpful.
I here you about the money thing.  I already have $400 worth of stuff that I want to get for my bike, but I'm going to have to save up.  I'm in school too so I also don't have a lot of time to work on it.  It's fun when I can though.
Good luck,
JB

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!
