Ken's at it again, Cycle X
« on: October 23, 2008, 09:33:28 AM »
He finally put up pics of the rods I was talking about when I got back from up north.  These pics don't do them justice!

http://www.cyclexchange.net/Superrods%20Page.htm

Also he has come up with a very nice exhaust set up.  USA made!  4 into 2 into 1, and they look sweet!

Like to know the material too. They look steel but would be a nice alt to high priced carillos for moderate builds.

Interesting looking pipe.It looks like a MAC can though(never was a fan). The price is good.I wonder if it just one configuration or different for different models. Also wonder if you lose your center stand or access to change oil.

Looks kewl.  Looks like it helps with speed bump clearance too.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

How do you know what size bearing shells to use? Do you have to measure each one? Dan

I've never seen those before.  :-\  I guess it comes down to selling what sells.

Keep in mind we ride a bike designed by the same generation of Japs that bombed Pear Harbor.  I guess it's all relative.

Geez 600 bucks isn't too bad, I wonder how they compare to APE rods?  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I think the patches thing has been taken way out of context....

Sure there's SS and swastika patches for sale, but it looks to me that they are NOS stuff from the 70's....

Meaning that they aren't reproductions and are up for sale as "collectible" accessories.

It's an "Outlaw Biker" thing, they also sell a lot of custom Harley stuff. Isn't it ironic though, that "Outlaw" Harley riders prefer that stuff to American militaria, considering that Germany lost the war?

I think there's a lot of "mysticism" associated with that SS stuff, (I dunno why though, my next door neighbor was an SS major and he was pretty normal) so that might be the allure? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Def. diggin the exhaust !

I LOVE those 4-2-1's!!! Those low drag pipes are nice as well though.
But i'd still take a set of the 4-2-1's ANY day over a straight 4-1.
Wish that 750 pipes fit a 650!

Can you "tweak" them to make 'em fit mate? I bought a set of Suzuki GS750 pipes for my GS1000, and I'm about to "cut and shut" them to make them fit. It'd be a shame if you couldn't get the pipes you wanted, just because of slight differences? Cheers, Terry. ;D

I think that i could if i had the pipes in hand(any donors?).
 ;D
I'm not hurting for pipes, just salivating, and wishing at the moment.

I had a set of shorty 4-2 drag pipes from a 750 I had, and loosening one of the pipes i could make them work.
Also had a 4-1 header,  I had would have needed at least 1 or 2 cuts and welds to align them correctly.

Those 4-2-1's look like they are equal length headers...
