That's a custom deal, he cut the end off of another tank and patched them together. He posted his build he a while back.

OK, that's really cool, and I like the look, but I can't help but wonder if the tank is functional, as in holding gas in the rear section, or is it just cosmetic (like what OCC does sometimes).

I think it might be cosmetic.  I would like to make mine functionally larger but heck the only thing I have ever welded before is a fence post.  I spent some time with photoshop last night slicing and dicing my tank to try and figure out where I could splice in a chunk from another tank.  It looks like the spot that is most even from front to back is right over the bung hole.  I'm going to have to think about this some more.
