Just curious; what's wrong with Tecumsah or B & S?
Just looking for that extra 1 hp?  Less money?

The tecumseh is alway broke,it's an old engine, last winter, each time i took my snow blower, something was wrong...and needless to say that i was "/$%?&**!!! >:(

So to solve the problem for hopefully many years to come i was thinking to buy a new engine, that why i was asking information about Lifan.

I'm looking for a 9hp because i have a 8hp on my snow blower right now

How about a diesel? http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?UID=2008102609420847&item=28-1690&catname=engines
Probably not  (diesel in the cold may be a problem) but the Surplus Center is the place to go for small engines at the best prices!

Never heard of the Lifan.  But I have always preferred the Briggs engines over Tecumseh.

And now, off to Google Lifan!
Go metric, every inch of the way!

One of my buddies here just got a 6hp from Harbor Fright for $125 . Put it on the wood splitter, added oil and gas, started first pull.
