Finally thought I would do one of these posts. Since I took a day off work today, and its already colder than a polar bears sac! Seems like no better time then now! I started back in June, picked up the 550, seemed like a good start & price was right. Swapped out the bars & seat, got it going & rode it for the summer, but, now its tear down time! Its down to the frame, usual plans, new bearings, paint, cut off the tabs to clean it up a bit. Going to run battery & wiring under seat. Replacing tank with a big ol' fatty from a 750, re-spoke the wheels & black the rims. The engines getting a carb rebuild and some top end gaskets, hopfully a 650 cam if I can find one! (anyone help a brother out?) Now that I got the $60 Special 750 theres no rush on the 550, but I really dig this bike! Updates to follow with pics.
