« on: October 21, 2008, 08:16:11 PM »

I had temporarily forgotten about this model of the American Eagle. Found THIS example (and more) over on North American Two Strokes. 8) I remember them, do you? ??? ;)

Probably is.. their big motors were Laverda..

For a time Evel Knievel rode AE and endorsed them..

Yeah mrB, you are right, it is a Kawasaki 350 Rotary Valve Twin. I think it was setup like the Avenger (or was it the Samuri?) Anyway, the American Eagle used the Kawasaki 350, 175 and, I think, some others. As said, the also used the Laverda. I always kinda wanted one of those Kawasaki 350s, they were pretty good screamers. Never managed to get one though. :(

Sure is a cool little bike, even if there is a Kawi engine in it.

I beleive it would be the Avenger as the 350. I had a 68 Samurai 250 that looked like this one:

A good bike mechanic only needs two tools, WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but should, use the WD40. If it does move but shouldn't use the duct tape.
