ARGH Tried for a test run.....
« on: April 22, 2009, 06:55:55 PM »
Tried for a test run tonight and found I have a fuel leak.  It appears that something around the #2 carb is leaking.  Either the float bowl gasket or more than likely the o'rings from the supply line.  I never replaced the fuel o'rings...  Never bench tested to check for leaks either.  Learned my lesson.  Carbs are now off and are drying on the bench.  Tomorrow I'll have to rig up a can and see exactly where the leak is coming from.

If it is the fuel supply junction o'rings, is it ok to pick up a metric Nitrile o'ring assortment kit from Harbor Freight?  I've heard of others buying kits from Harbor Freight.

I walked away, took a few mintues to drink a beer and went back out to the garage.  On further inspection, it appears that I pinched the float bowl gasket as it had a flat spot on it.  I'll buy another and install more carefully.  Then, bench test to check for leaks prior to mounting.

ARGH!!
