After losing computor connection for a couple of years, due to serious probs with the service provider and moving home my connection is now back on line......wooopie, so here i am again, but having forgot my old username and password i had to re-register on this site, however, with my non politically correct and totally innapropriate humour with added "typo-tourettes" that may manifest itself at random, someone will probably remember me.....i hope....anyways hello to all you cb750 ers out there......oh yes, I live in the uk

:) Hy a there bro, unfortunately, I am at the moment in Wales. I say "unfortunately" not because of any real inherent racism towards said Welsh, but because of this reason; Last year {due to working outdoors on car and bike} I counted the days of "good weather"........these amounted to just 14...  These were days that had total sunshine and that were also warm, windless [for painting things] and pleasent.
Obviously, getting things done on these days was essential, and I did not achieve everything that I had hoped to.....the rest of the year it rained, and rained and when it didn't rain, it was windy and wild..and looked like it was going to rain.
Some days, it looked like it would not rain, so I would take all my gear outside to do some work, yep, only to have to rush back in with it all, because it had started to rain again.....This was like a mixture of cabin fever, depression, and a growing sense of failure that threatened my whole project....
However, not to be outdone by such a meteorlogical nightmare this year, I knew from last year that EVERY day that could be used to work on my bike bits had to be; this was the plan......
Then the gods threw a fantastically cunning curved ball......
The car threw it's clutch due to an oil leak from the head gasket and I also had to strip its gearbox....front wheel drive peugeot 306.......These are horrendous jobs on a diesal 306, BUT, last year I had 14 days of sun remember?
O, NO, not this damn year, we got 11........
so, allthough I "exist" in Wales, I certainly do not intend to for much longer, because its a big biking problem in every way imaginable.
Please do not anyone use the imaginary and dreamlike/ nirvanaesc word {CALIFORNIA} in their replies unless of course you intend to make a grown man cry.

Sounds like the weather has been bad all over...not exactly a summer to remember around here either!!

Any chance a portable garage would help? Usually they can be picked up very cheaply but not always useable due to their size compared to driveway space etc...

Aaaaah, but, remember way back in April, when those boffins from the Met Dept., the same ones that have been warning us for years about Global Warming, Climate change etc, assured us that we were to expect a "Barbeque" summer? And what happened when by the middle of August there had been, alas, one week of 25°C+ temperatures, they smugly said on TV; "That was it".
Gives me renewed confidence in those highly paid people that are supposed to furnish such like information to us.

Any idea what you email was back then Dimitri?

Any clue as to what your username or email was will allow me to search the database for your old identity.

If i could remember further back than this morning I would be doing good! LOL.
the portable garage idea, is great but unfortunately;my driveway slopes at an angle that is so steep that if you compared it say to the angle of lean you would dare to take on your bike,,,,my drive would win.....i gotta move to a house with a garage...odd thing is,its the ONLY house in the street with a sloping down drive,,,everyone elses is level....so things that should be simple like changing brake shoes and pads on the car take on a level of extra work.......and just checking the gearbox oil where the car must be level is a frightmare,
yes,i could do this on the road, but should any gearbox oil escape the net curtain twitchers would cry "enviromental foul!" remember the good old days when you could just pour your freshly drained oil down the drain in the road anyone? gawd, things arn't half complex these days.
