Avatar Animation???
« on: October 29, 2008, 01:59:12 PM »
What happen? My old avatar was an animated GIF, now I changed to another animated GIF and it is no longer animated. What's up? I even check the file size to make sure it wasn't something to do with the server.

And it would be better if the GIF was animated!

No, it's the lesser-known 'Ministry of John Cleese in Static Profile' sketch.

Never a big hit, much like the 'Completely Live and Healthy Pet Parrot' sketch or the 'Heterosexual Lumberjack' bit.

All three were seriously revamped in early '66 to be the classics we know and love.

Weird! Some work, others do not. And ones that worked before do not work anymore.

Sounds like Edgar Allen Poe.

It's not always that easy.  I was just reading the first couple of pages of the Shameless Post Boost Thread(don't ask) and found one that Seaweb posted.  It was static until you clicked on it, where it got larger and then got animated.  I'll try to duplicate it;

Edit- Success!!

(a) stumble across amusing avatar on another forum.

(b) right click image and select 'properties'.

(c) note image hosted at photobucket.

(d) wait several months.

(e) decide to change avatar.

(f) search photobucket for image.

(g) find multiple copies in numerous albums.

(h) select one and copy url to paste in forum profile info per FAQ instructions.

(i) sit back and laugh because he looks so dam funny playin' that there banjo.

If this were a true battle, I'm sure I could get this thread deleted, with some of the stuff I've collected.  And maybe get myself banned in the process. ;D ;D ;D

As I stated in the email, you asked for it!

Unfortunately, due to a hard disk failure a couple months back, I have lost most of my collection.  I do have a couple "smileys" that I have hesitated to ask if they could be added to our selection.  Maybe you could use your influence as a former mod to help out.

Again, check your email.

i know it would be nice for everyone to be able to use the smileys but what i do is host them at photobucket... then they can be inserted as needed.

like so...

if we gather up more smileys that we like, here in this thread, we could offer them up to the sohc4.net gods and see what happens.
