Truck forum anyone?
« on: November 01, 2008, 06:28:15 PM »
Since the k8 is still broke, and I received the gift of a truck from the family, Id like to find a good truck forum to lurk around. Any suggestions from members b4 I start diggin on my own?  8)

Anything wrong with it? There should be plenty of ford truck forums out there.

I have a 95' F-150 4x4....... Virtually the same just different front grill etc.

Auto-loc hubs can be a PITA, and the EFI can be a bit tricky to diagnose but generally a solid truck. If it has the 4.9litre six (300 cid) than watch for head gasket issues, but the 5.0 litre and 5.8's are pretty solid but I've seen a few spin bearings with high mileage (200 - 300 k)

Forums are endless for these, here are a few:

http://www.fordf150.net/forums/
http://www.f150forum.com/

...I haven't ever been on these forums and doubt they're anything as good as this one.

I've had mine for quite a while so If you have anything particular to ask you can try me  ;)

Hey Boat, if you have any trouble with it or specific problems by all means you can send a question my way as well. I'm not too shabby when it comes to truck problems seeing as it's a major recreational thing in my area.

Thanx all. Nothins wrong as of yet w/ it except for a blown fog lamp but thats trivial sh1t. I was lookin for a forum to browse looking for potential problems that will come in the future but thats probably a hypochondriac sort of thinking.

The only question I would have at this time is the speedometer vs. oversized tires. Im running Coopers now 31x10.50RLT. That doesnt make a lick of sense to me. The spare tire is a 235/75R15. Without a Chilton Im not sure what was original and how far the mph's are off. & after that, how does it get corrected?

Thanx Matt, Ill look into one of those forums in time.

& now that theres is a truck in the family, Ill expand my search for the k8's replacement case and go get it myself.  ;) Yipppeee
