Is this considered a K or an F?
« on: September 22, 2005, 05:42:08 AM »
Heres my Frame number: 1011812
Heres my Engine number: 1011722

That matches up with this:
CB550 550 Four  1974 Frame #CB550E-1000001- Engine #CB550-1000001-

So mine is not an F or a K.

what do i tell the people that ask me when im ordering parts? is this considered a K0, because it was the first run of 550's they made?

You have a 1974 CB550 KO  ;)
Have you taken the sprocket cover off to see where the leak is coming from?

There's a list on this site:

http://sohc4.us/?q=node/133

So you have a K0

Note there is no mention of the "F" models on this (?)

EDIT:

More info here for K:  http://100megsfree4.com/honda/h0500/four550k.htm
and here for the F: http://100megsfree4.com/honda/h0500/four550.htm

Sorry to be a pain but that frame number CANT begin CB500E unless its a dubious re-stamped "hot" frame. Frames are either CB550-**** or CB550F-****

I tried to last night, one of the hex head screws are stripped that keeps the cover on. Im going to have to take it in a shop this Sat to have him true the wheels so im going to have him take off that stripped screw also.

Assuming the frame number begins CB550 NOT CB550F you have a Model year 1974 ( could be built 73 or 74) CB550K0 which originaly would have been one of Flake Sunrise Orange; Boss Maroon Metallic; or Freedom Green Metallic with colour matched side covers, black panels on the tank with a gold and a white stripe between the coulour and the black. Four seperate exhausts same as 500
