1987 Shadow VT1100 plug wires
« on: November 01, 2008, 07:37:48 PM »
I have the above listed bike. I want to change out the spark plug wires, since these are originals with actual mileage unknown, but known to be in excess of 50,000. I would rather buy aftermarket than OEM. I don't know what type of wire to get, copper core or resistor wire. The OEM are sealed, so I can't tell from them. I don't want to tear them down just to find I have to order parts. This is my daily ride.

I checked with the Shadow forums I've found online, but most of those discussion tend to be about where to get your chromey baubles installed. I posted this question there, but got only blank stares.

Also, a source for preformed aftermarket plug wires and the caps would be great.

Thanks, in advance, for any info.

is it injected or carbureted. with a computer on board you dont want to use a copper core wire because of the electrical interference they can cause
