I just bought a 1973 CB750 and have a question regarding painting the engine. The owner before had painted the fins of the cylinder block and head, but did a crappy job. I want to remove the paint and spray something better. I know I can remove the old paint with Aircraft Stripper, however does anyone know how hot the fins get? I ask because I am considering using engine enamel (which is good up to 500 degrees), but want to make sure it will hold up. My other option is the high heat stuff, but then I have to cure it. The bike is not running now, so curing by running the bike is not an option. Thanks for the advice.
