Final Ride of the Season
« on: October 10, 2012, 11:13:10 AM »
Took the final ride of the season on my CB750A.  No "fall colors" left to look at, so I guess I'll put the bike away for the winter.
I've already filled the tank, put StaBil in the tank, next week I'll change oil and filter and perhaps take the oil pan off and clean the oil screen (or at least see if it needs it)
Then the tasks of winter will begin next week.
...New Tires...
...New Chain (perhaps a 560 conversion)...
...New Sprockets (to go with the 560 conversion).

I am still hopefull that I will get to take my first ride of the season soon.  Truth be told I am looking to take my first round trip ride that does not include putting the bike in the back of my truck.  If it stops raining soon it could happen this week.

Been to St. Cloud once.  Very pretty country.  Having a boat and a bike in your region would be a must.

@Magilla, I hope you get to take her out. As for me, once mine is back to running normal, I'll be riding all winter (except when snow or ice on road lol)

It is raining/hailing here today and just about freezing, so my days are numbered.
But I'm still hopeful to get a couple more weeks of driving to work, we will see.

It's the 60hr work weeks that are keeping me from paying much attention to my 550 lately. It's ready to ride too but I'm just too wiped out on the 1 day I have off to care and the cool weather doesn't add much motivation either, :(

You can throw a lot of  miles on going to work and back. I get 250 miles/wk that way. Then at the end of the season I feel like I'm justified owning the bike.
If it's worth doing at all it's worth over-doing.

Took my K3 out for a short ride last week....in full color.  Then the temp dropped so I took my Aprilia to the Slimey Crud Run west of Madison. It was a very nice day except for the 29-degree early morning temps.  The weatherman says it will be in the 60s next week so the K3 will get a few more miles before it gets parked in my warm basement.

+1
Same here, I've got more invested in it than it's worth so being it gets double the fuel mileage as my truck I ride it as often as I can to make it pay for itself not to mention I enjoy riding it. Problem is I don't like riding cold so being I don't have proper cool weather riding gear it's been parked lately.

Having both motorcycle and boat would limit my time and finances on both, so I choose to pick just one so that I can optimize that activity.  Living in the St cloud, MN area is nice.  The surrounding area is really nice in the summer and fall.  Riding along the Mississippi during the fall give one  terriffic views of all the colors this time of year.  I've posted one such photo or fall colors around the area.

 >:( dang weather spoiling my fun. I just saw ya over there in that thread, and I'm like what happened to Thursday ?! So I stalked your posts  ;D.
If it breaks down, how much can you possibly hold back on posting about it ?  :P L O L
Am I going to have to pull up the doppler to see if you're just torturing us Magilla... :P

Ok so me and my last ride of the season...there's no plan and no last ride - if the winter breaks I'm on it and out there.
