Don't laugh - I've used two of those items to get me home years ago (of course not on the K7 I have 4 sale)

It's funny because at one time or another, either you or someone you know probably used or thought of using one of these to get home. Completely ignoring the idea, "why did it blow a fuse??" { fire?, what fire?} ???

yup, me used the foil from a pack of cigs a few times in my life.  In fact, I did it a month ago.  I need to fix that fuse box.  It was 6:00pm on 635 close to Garland.  It was either sit on the side of that freeway until I got hit by a car driving down the emergency lane or do that.  Fuse was fine, one the prong that hold the fuse broke, I needed to fill the gap.

So, I can see the humor in that image.  I had no idea how much amperage it was.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Many many many many years ago (hey I was riding a two year old k5!) I was cruising up 101 from salinas after sopending an incredible day with my girlfriend and saw a guy on the side of the road with a yamaha twostroke 350. Pulled over to see what was wrong.
Turns out he had blown a fuse, and 'repaired' it with a wheel weight he'd found on the side of the road.
I had just bought a roll of electrical tape before I headed down highway 1 to sal, (favorite route there, but often had to hurry home) ended up using the complete roll to fix the wires,. EVERYTHING was toasted on that Yami.

I realy think if he'd have used a 22, he'd have blown his nuts off and we could have used less tape.....

Using the 22  would definately give new meaning to a blown fuse.

Gotta add another one. A friend of mine use a cigarette butt with wire wrapped around it! I remember that but for some reason do not remember him ever putting a fuse back in! :D

Isn't that from a piece about Lucas electrics?  If you've owned a British bike or car from anytime up to the 70s, you know how true this is.  It is only the beginning of the story!
