leaking....
not a good sign.

I hope they are pinholes, and the kreem adheres well enough to seal them!!

Find a radiator repair shop that will solder it for you. I had a local guy do a large solder job and seal with Redcote a CT90 tank for $80.00. Couldn't do it myself for that.

actually, i don't think that you did a disservice to your tank... it was only a matter of time before the tank got to that point, and i doubt 5 minutes of HC acid could do that sort of damage to a tank not already in need of repair.

your tank WILL be better than it would have been... there, glass is half full.   ;)

thanks for the word of encouragement. i think i will be fine, the tank was in terrible shape. when i got it had jbweld all over one side and the bottom so i knew it was it bad shape, i used lots of bondo and sanding and smoothed it so that you cant even tell that one side of the tank is 1/4 thicker than the other. its just pin holes dripping and they run to the back of the tank and drip off so i put a funnel and the tank prep bottle there so every 20 mins i go out and top the tank off again. ha its kinda hokey lookin but its working.   HC def does the trick it was in for 5 mins and it was clean. there was smoke coming out of the fill hole and thas when i said hmm i shouldnt leave this in here long. nother hour or so and im guna kreem it. wish me luck with this stuff

ok, the trick to these things is you're either gonna stay awake for a while  ;)

or you're gonna come back to it... either is fine, but make up your mind.

good luck.

I would never line a tank with holes in it. I would get the holes fixed first. Liners just do not create a permanent fix as far as I am concerned. Not against holes anyways.

sounds like it's about time to break out some sheet metal and the good old body hammers and fab up a new tank. maybe that's just me though

well i kreemed it and a drop or two of the liner came out of the holes but it stoped quickly. i think once it dries il put some jb weld over the spots where the holes are, this isnt going to be a show bike and its on the bottom of the tank. if it doesnt end up working il look for a new tank but lets hope it does. this bike is taking over my life... every spare minutes i have im doing something to it

I don't think I would even mess with a tank with a bunch of holes in the bottom?  Seems like they are on feeBay cheap enough, maybe look around for a decent replacement? They go pretty cheap if you don't care about it having the stock paint still in great shape.
