I don't go out of my way to get them, but I've developed a pretty decent collection of them.  I've got about 10 motorcycle tags and 30 or 40 car tags.  I've hung most of them on the wall of the shed.

I have one from the 20's or 30's but Ebay says i can't sell it there.
(for got why- maybe because it's from Delaware)

Have a modest collection of 1930 plates-my Ford is a '30.
Always looking for more 1930's from a non-represented state.
The collection does include three pair !

UE, I got a bunch from my dad.  I think I wrote here about the strange thing he did where he somehow got the same number each year which was also our street number, so I have a bunch that are Ohio tags from the 60's all numbered 1346.

Actually I just asked him and he says he knew someone at AAA he'd call and see when they were into the 1300's and when they were, he'd wait for 1346 to come up.  My mom just told me her parents also got the same number every year because they were AAA members and could reserve the number.  My dad just did it the hard way.  I questioned the AAA thing.  So at some point in the past you got your tags through AAA?  Am I showing my youth here?

Other than that, they've come from the cars I've owned and bikes I've bought.  And a few people here and there have given them to me too.  It's not a conscious collection, they've just come to me.

Nice collection Gerhed.  I'll keep an eye out for '30 plates for you.  Doesn't look like you have any southern states which is what I'd probably find if I find any.

It was nice to accumulate the old plates from previous years/bikes, but Michigan, and I suspect other locales no longer actually replace the plates anymore, just add another crummy year sticker to the corner of the plate. So much for nostalgia. :-\

Here's a picture.  If it's worth anything, I'd like to sell it because I'm broke.

If it's not worth much, the first $5 to cover postage gets it.

I don't think birds are too particular.  Every year they build nests in my garage.  I have to remember to cover important holes like my helmet.

beans,,, now I'm not sure where that plate went
