Thanks so much cant thank you guys enuff bought a basket case (1974 cb 750) for $100 about 2 weeks ago that hasent been on road since 1986!!! Had a couple of issues when putting it back together no start, no spark, no fuel.

but in goin through your forums n faq were the answers to all my questions!!!!

no start = starter buttin it self was fried
spark = red wire coming from dyna 3 was fried
no fuel = petcock need to be cleaned out

NOTHING SWEETER THAN THAT BIKE FIRING UP FOR THE FIRST TIME !!!!

That's true, I bought mine complete and assembled but having been kept for 15 years. When the beast came to life I felt a big adrenaline rush. Once you are there you know it will be running one day.

I am finishing up a 74 550 that had been sitting since 82.  The only better feeling is taking that first ride.  It was incredible.  I worked on it after work on and off for almost a year.  I almost quit a time or two and sold it off but after that first ride, I thought to myself that it was all worth it.

I just took my 550 around the block just to remind myself that I finally have it running - and running quite nicely! Gonna get a tag for it next week so it will be street legal. Then I'm gonna leave my Shadow home and take the 550 to work. Can't wait to get it painted.
