Is that a... Tracy body on the first one?! Wow.

I don't know much about these (for shame) but I'd guess these examples were the later true Indians... c.early 50's?

I don't know about a tracy body on that one...

If it is, it's been cut, shaped and molded to an extreme. More likely they used the tank as the primary shape and then just extended the shape towards the rear light. At least that'd be what I'd do, and I'm lazy lol.

Nice find there Bill440. I looked at that one for HOURS lol.  ::) :o ::)

I'm pretty sure that it's not a Tracy body, but just something fabbed up for that bike. Somewhere, I've got a Feb 68' magazine (don't remember the name right off, could be Cycle, Cycle World, Motorcyclist...) that shows an Indian similar to the one with the "body" but looks a lot better. Maybe, by the time I find it, I can be up and in the position to scan the photo and post it. ;)

It's certainly unique! I like it, surprisingly, ya wouldn't imaging such a way out body on an old beast would work... but it does.

The rear of the body is reminiscent of the classic tracker tail. Any idea of year(s) of manufacture RE: the Indians?

I agree, nice find!
