Possible Clutch Issue...
« on: November 10, 2008, 07:25:59 pm »
Yesterday I took the Hot Rod for a spin.  It was damn cold outside and I let the bike warm up before starting out.  My clutch was slipping pulling out into the roadway and then again at the next stop sign.  The slipping was gone by the time I returned home, but then again, I wasn't really letting out the clutch from a dead stop.  Is this typical in cold weather, or may I need an adjustment?  This was the first time I experienced a slip with this bike's clutch.

Slippage in cold weather is related to your oil viscosity.  Multi-weight oils with a wide viscosity range (e.g. 5W40) tend to be especially sensitive.
