Hi from Sandhurst
« on: November 28, 2008, 12:15:17 PM »
Hi there,
I have recently become the proud owner of a 73 CB750.

It's a bit Cafe racer'ish but with a Churchgate fairing, Seeley Tank and Seat and a Dresda swingarm.

It needs a bit of work before I get it to the stage I want it so I'll be enjoying a bit of a winter project. (Those poxy stickers have already been removed and the 4 into 4 straight through pipes that came with it have been fitted).

I'm sure that I'll be on here bending your ears, asking daft questions and with a bit of luck I'll have a stunning early 70's race bike to enjoy on the road and track.

My three rides.

WOW!  I like it.  Please start a project page and keep us updated (with lots of pics) with your progress.   Looks like a fun winter project there.

Hi Skunk (or should I call you Meister?)

Welcome to the club and I look forward to seeing this bike of yours. As you are only 10 miles up the road it should not be too much of an issue.  I remember Churchgate well from the 70's as wee used to lust after their stuff.

And a Dresda swingarm....   say no more.

I have a Seeley in my barn, which a mate bought at Stafford this summer. I don't have any pictures at the moment but will post some when I can.

I'll start the guessing:

A 'blade for the road and an R6 for the track? (not an expert on modern Jap bikes I'm afraid)

I'll PM my number, give me a call and we'll get together.

...and pop in to www.sohc.co.uk and meet the UK Chapter.

Same look and feel (same S/W) but UK-based.

Hi there, thanks for the welcome.

Steve, of course you can pop over to see the bike. However it has the fairing removed at the moment as I have just started stripping the bike. About to start taking the engine out so I can get the frame ready for repainting.

I have a bit of work to sort out this winter to repair the damage sustained by a trailer accident (trailer flipped at low speed due to bad design, not much damage but the tank will need a bit of work that can be sorted by someone who know's aluminium beating and welding).

I think I will be returning the bike to how it looks in the pictures but with a fresh coat of paint and some better brackets etc.
