Ive just inherited dads CB 750,that must have stood out in the open a lot as the forks and all the alluminium on the crankcases looks corroded.Any suggestions for restoring the ally to its polished state?

I put a small buffing pad on my power drill, using the black buffing compound first, you can get right thru the corrosion and the yellow coating under that. Once the metal begins to shine like chrome, switch to brown compound and then finish up with white. Maybe 45 minutes to do all the case covers, if they are on the bike.
Good luck,
