Dyna S Kit Pricing
« on: November 15, 2008, 11:02:20 AM »
Is this a decent price ($299) for the whole kit.. or can these be had cheaper?

EBAY DYNA S KIT LINK

Also, anyone know anyone selling these with black wires instead of the bright yellow?

A little expensive.  I paid $256 for dyna-s 2 green coils and plug wires from z1 ent. and less than $10 for shipping.

Cool. How might I find this z1 ent.???

Do yourself a favor and deal with Z1 rather than the ebay seller you linked to. He's always high on price and some people have reported issues with him.

I've not recently seen a new dyna-s for any less that 125 (free shipping) on ebay.  Z1 wants 120 plus 6 shipping.

I feel good about the HondaMan ignition.  If you do go Dyna-S, you may want to see HondaMan anyway for resistors if you are going with hotter coils.

OK, so I'm on the z1 Ent. website and a bit confused as to what I should be ordering.

I know the points replacement kit would be:
Dyna-S Electronic Ignition DS1-2 Right?

But which coils? I seen here someone mentioned buying 'the green coils'. Would I want the:

Dyna Dual Output 3.0 Ohm Coils (pair) DC1-1 - DYDC1-1. 3 ohm green coils
OR
Dyna Single Output 3.0 Ohm Coils (pair) DC3-1 - DYDC3-1. 3 ohm green coils

Now, onto wires..
If I read this right, I want resistor plug caps and non-suppression core wires, so would this wire/plug cap combination be correct?

Dyna Ignition Wires - 7mm copper core (black) - BLACK 7mm copper core
2) NGK Resistor Spark Plug Cap 12mm & 10mm - 120 degree elbow
2)   NGK Resistor Spark Plug Cap 12mm & 10mm - Straight

Finally, one last question. Do these Dyna coils bolt right into the stock coil holders or is some custom modification required?

Thanks.

You may also wish to use my Resistor Pack (1.0 ohm) with the 3-ohm coils and Dyna S. I've seen a number of "S" triggers fail from directly switching these low-ohm coils. This Pack would stop those failures.

Or, get the 5-ohm coils instead, which you can bolt straight up to the "S" with good results and reliability.

Cool. The caps that come with the wires are resistor caps and angled correctly?

Thanks

Finish the upgrade and go with iridium plugs and you'll be all set.

Hey Gary, thanks man, so do you!  I won't start the 1st gen/2nd gen thing here, lol.

I see you made it over here from the VR site, good choice.  Good choice in the two bikes you have too!
