Ha ha, I just got a mental picture of you working in a Dickensian 19th century accountancy office on Christmas Day Sammy, wearing your pure white racing suit and helmet like the Stig from Top Gear to keep warm, because Mr Scrooge won't allow you any extra coal for the hearth, dreaming of your 3 farthings "triple pay" and looking forward to a family Christmas dinner of fresh Goose, roasted chestnuts, and warm lager! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Hang in there Fuzzy, the Prayers are a coming buddy! ;) You just have to be thinking about what you are going to do WHEN YOU GET OUT OF THERE! :) Gotta get in shape for that Thanksgiving dinner. ::) Seriously Fuzzy, You DO just hang in there, cause I Know you can like this thing and get on with your life. I can well understand that feeling also. Go practice that "Airborne Game" that Medic put on here, that'll keep you busy for awhile. It sure would keep ME occupied to try to get to where I could do any good with it! ::)

Hey Fuzzy,
glad to here your on the mend. Gallstones >:( >:( >:(.
My first attack I called 911 and had the paramedics come to the house...I thought I was having a heart attack.
The pain would start in my back and start to work it's way to the front...man it was awful. An ultrasound found that I had a 1cm gallstone.
After 2 years on the waiting list...no medication...just staying away from the food that causes the attack.(If you know the source) I finally had it/them removed...and all is well.
I do not wish that pain on anyone ;) ;)
BUT...theres always a but....the gallstones were removed by making 3 cuts in my stomach, one in the bellybutton, one at 9:00 and one at 3:00 (if you are looking at your stomach. They removed the stones through the bellybutton. In order to do this they fill the stomach cavity with some sort of gas/air. Hears the kicker :o :o :o the only way for the air/gas to escape the cavity is through your skin. So the air travels, for some strange reason, to your right shoulder. Well this pain was just as bad as the gallstones. It lasted about 15-20 min. If I had the kahunas I could have stuck a knife in my shoulder to release the gas/air.
However this procedure did allow me back on my feet in 1 week as opposed to the 8 week recovery period for the old procedure.
Sorry if I spooked ya fuzz but I figured you might want to know, hang in there. :)

Geezus, I was thinking that you two are old farts like Bill and I still have a long way to go before I have to worry about gallstones, then I realized that I'm older than you both! Bummer..............  :P

Gallstones.............i have gallstones. not sure yet what will be done whether surgical or medical treatment. i'll know more in the coming weeks.

Wow, Fuzzy, I just found this thread!
Hope you're getting diagnosed right: that's always the biggest problem, while the docs stumble around guessing, until they find out what the triggers are that are causing the other problems. If you want, I can take you to our prayer groups...

My wife has type I dabetes, and many things have happened to her. We have actually become something of diagnosticians ourselves, as the doctors have missed the call far more times than correctly naming the cause of [whatever she's suffering this time]. She has suffered everything from stroke-like BP to pass-out, coma-level nausea, while having relatively normal blood sugar levels, and the docs would blame her diabetes, because they didn't know how to deal with it. Truth finally came out 3 years ago: she suffers panic attacks. A passing psychiatrist mentioned that he had seen this in many depressed patients, and they prescribed an anti-panic-attack prescription that has stopped it. After 34 years of misdiagnoses.  :-\  Now, she only has "normal" medical problems, not erratic ones (like the breast cancer she went through 4 times, now seems OK).

I hope you just have one thing, like this, that is the trigger for all the others, so they can fix it in one trip, so to speak. Keep us posted?
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

My wife had her entire gall bladder taken out in her mid 20s.  Apparently that sort of thing happens after some pregnancies.  It happened after her second.  It had stones in it also.
Go metric, every inch of the way!

Holy $#!% Fuzz! I just found this thread man! I'm relieved they/you at least know what's going on with ya... but the first page had me real nervous. Hang in there pal! I'm glad you're keep us apprised of what's happening and I'll have you in my thoughts. I use to get steamed when people would cheerfully remind me when I was feeling down that "well, at least you have your health". Wanted to pop 'em one. But nowadays I see the relevance of that cliche.

RE: below... :D :D :D
damn, finally found out. right after the shot of morphine, the nurse came in and started to get ready to put the monitor leads on my chest. now, i'm quite hairy and she asked me if i wanted to be shaved before they were put on. this nurse was SUPER cute, and me being stoned out of my gourd said "only if youre the one thats shaving me"  she was cool and laughed and sais "no, its the bald guy right outside there" guy almost my size and just as ugly, i, of course, declined  :D
