I say, Jardine 4-1 with Kerker (or Winning) tailpiece :o

Get on the ground, look under it for evidence of decal or tag.. because the  joint is further out from center of the bike, the tailpiece must be rotated about 1/4 turn, to fit..

Check top tree for cracks, as crunching the instruments put a bit of strain on it (think you said it cracked the paint)..

It's actually typical of the paint to peel on the K3 and earlier bikes' steering head. Honda just sprayed them, no primer, on metal, like the front caliper. Most all of them peel. After the K4, the finish and prep was better, as was the type of paint used elsewhere. The earlier ones were just enamel.

mrbreeze,

I thought it might be a Kirker but it doesn't have the Kirker cone in the muffler... Maybe it's just missing.

My 550K has a Kirker and it looks like this.

Tatoo,

Too bad about the swim.... A donor motor will pop up...

The primary tubes are to long to be a Kerker
Ahhhhh.....didn't pay much attention to that but the can sure looks like my Kerker.

Nice looking bike, can't wait to see what you do with it. Should be a pretty simple project if you keep it the way it is  :).

I'll look under the muffler and see if it has any name on it?

What about the mirrors? Anyone notice, they are really odd or just on the wrong side??

First I will pull he carbs, they're sticky. Clean em, ID them and rebuild them. then adjust valves, tune up and another HONAMAN ignition. Find another set of gauges and a front fender. Then a new set of Avons and wheel bearings and tapered steering bearings, and a swingarm rebuild. Somewhere along the line the motor will get polished..

I also have my 550K project, just bought a 650 cam  and sprocket,a set of 650 gauges, becasue the 550 tach wont work with a 650 cam,Hondaman is going to do the head over the winter, it'll geet a new set of Avons, 38 tooth rear sproket, new chain, wheel bearings, tapered steering bearings, etc. ( it already has a HONDAMAN ignition).

I am restoring a 1980 CB125S basketcase,for a guy in Long Island, NY.

Trying to decide which one to do first...

Bob

Cool find Otto you lucky guy!!!  While doing all that stuff don't forget to pay some good attention to those forks while they are off.  You will be glad you did.  While I had mine off I was able to remove the clearcoat and they polished up real nice.  Can't wait to see your pics as you progress.  Best of luck on the restore!!!

Thanks John,

I plan on it. Have done a few forks. Usually, 220,320,400,600,800,1000,1500 and polish..

Yours look great, waht's the process you use?

Wow! My bikes brother !! (750's are all men, right)! We'll have to have a reunion for them. That is a nice looking bike :D ;)!

Are your gauge faces dark green or black? Mine look dark green and they are damaged...  I may have found a replacement set but they are black ? Wonder if they made black face and green face gauges in 71?

They are dark green. A dead give away are the indicator lights built into the gauge faces. Usually the 71 faces were all cracked and faded from the sun. It might be tough finding replacements, but I have seen them every now and then. I have an extra set but_______ they are rusted beyond repair. I mean bad.

How much did you pay for it?  Great find. Good luck.   I wish I could find a barn burner like that.

I have looked all over the exhaust, no manufacturer name or stickers.

I have looked at the stuff Hondaman mentioned yet, been too busy and it's cold outside. :(
