can someone tell me what tank this is??
« on: November 15, 2008, 06:49:39 AM »
hey guys, I am trying to figure out if this is the same tank that i have or if it is a different tank. If they are different, could someone tell me what year and model the rhino lined on is from and if it would fit on my 76 CB750F frame... I like the shape and style of that tank. I think mine is close to the same but a little skinnier. Thanks in advance.

It looks like the grey/black tank is from a 77/78K. The green (as you stated ) is an F. The biggest difference is in length, the F tank being longer, but people have certainly swapped out before.

What I'm saying is that I'm sure it has been done. How much work needs to be done to get it to fit and what it will eventually look like, I cannot say. The F tank is longer than the K so you will have more room between the seat and start of the tank. Anything is possible with some ingenuity and a hammer. Others can probably comment on their own experience. I did a quick "search" and found this thread:

Hope it helps. I think most people are looking to switch from the 77-78 tanks because they have quite different lines from the earlier models. But I have a 78 and like the tank just fine and from the picture you posted, it's easy to see that any tank can be made to look nice.

Yes, the tank will fit.
When the majority of the United States population get to be 70 years old, they will finally realize what is really important. And by then it'll be too late.
