Any Safari Fans Out There?
« on: November 16, 2008, 10:40:43 AM »
Due to a recent technical limitation of IE that seems to have targeted me alone ::) I've begun using Safari. I wish I had done it sooner, much faster than IE, but then most apps not developed my MS are.

Anyway, one thing I miss is the ability to install Adobe apps in the Google toolbar I had under IE to capture web pages/sites on my local drive as a PDF. Is there any such provision under Safari?

Google toolbar was probably one of the reasons why you found ie so slow.  Ditch it, and install the open source app pdfcreator.

Once installed it lets you convert anything you can print to a pdf file.  Just select it as the printer.

Could you not just go to File> Print> select Adobe PDF and then choose the Print/Ok button.  This should work if you have Adobe Writer of some form or fashion installed.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Yes, tried that. It and PDFCreator work the same way, the only difference is, when I select either as the printer, only the current page displayed is printed, whereas when I used the Adobe app. from the Google Toolbar, once the first file was saved and displayed, I could follow links within the file created and save as much as I wanted and it would all be appended to the same file. Hope that makes sense. No big deal. If I find a multi-page file I want to save, I will just use IE and Google Toolbar for now.
