What no pictures? Did you try to have him giveit to you? After it is rebuilt, natch.

WHAT you think a bog (english for lavatory) is a wonderful piece of machinery! You obviously never had to work on one! They started making combine Harvesters and a lot of the engineering carried over. Strong Yes, Agricultural Yes, Expensive Damn Right. Electrics DONT GO THERE
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

I don't know about the new ones.
I rode a Laverda many years ago, a 70's 750 I think. The engine looked like they stole the drawings for a super hawk motor and enlarged all the dimensions.
The intense vibration of the superhawk motor was also magnified by about 10 times. It was ponderously top heavy but rode OK at speed though a handful at walking speed. Total body numbness would set in after about an hour on the highway from the bone-rattling vibration.
I got to ride it because I was the local bike electrical guru. Much like the Ducatis of the era, the electrical system was a total nightmare and the owner needed some help to solve some intermittent problem.
British bikes had some electrical quirks, but the Italians really perfected screwing up a bike's wiring. There had to be 400 wires and about 10 switches that didn't do anything sensible, 4 switches that would turn the headlight off and on as I recall.

I had an '81 Jota triple, that bike was smooth and could eat the miles, I rode it all around Wales one weekend, covering hundreds of miles, a truelly fantastic machine.

I wish it had a kickstarter though  because turning the motor over would drag the voltage down and not let the Bosch ignition fire.
