New guy in Minneapolis 76 CB750F
« on: November 19, 2008, 10:03:28 PM »
I have been trying to pry a 76 CB750F Super Sport out of the hands of one of my neighbors.  It has been sitting for 25 years in a shed and has 6K on the odometer.  It is unmolested, the engine turns over and the chrome should polish up well.  My neighbor has neither the time, skill, or interest in getting the bike running but seeing that he bought the bike new he is having a hard time passing it on.  He is starting to soften a bit and I will continue to work on him over the next few weeks.  I do own and love my 1979 Yamaha XS650 that I have had since new.  At 24 I rode this bike to California and back and to Montana many times but at 50 I have decided I need something that vibrates a bit less for long trips.  The CB750 is the only other bike that really stirs my interest.  I will of course keep the Yamaha and they will make a nice pair.

Once I get my hands on this bike I am sure I will have a few questions.

ohhhh that sounds like a fun project, and maybe once you get the moto you can start on another project  ;D

Good luck with getting the bike...a few "undercover" -esque photos to spark our interest?

We're all cheerin' for you here!

Hey Steve,

I have a 77 Super Sport here in Minneapolis. I just started my engine build. Your possible bike sound great. Much better than the rat I picked up, but it is coming along nicely. I hope you get your neighbors bike. They deserve to be fixed up and driven. Christian has it right, we are all cheering for you!
