I'm looking around for an insulation material for the backs of parts of my fairings
on the duck. This would also work on hoods etc....

has anyone ever used this stuff from summit racing?

Thanks KG, those firewall blankets would do for sure. I'll figure how much I need and maybe
one piece would do it.

Sam, send money.  ;D ;D ;D

Reminds me of a post card exchange;

Dear Dad,
No mon,
No fun-
Your son.

Dear Son-
Too bad,
So sad-
Your Dad.

I'm wondering what you wish to accomplish with this alleged insulation on a motorcycle?
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

I assumed it had something to do with the "Riding in near freezing temps" thread  ;)

It seems the insulation is there on my fairings to prevent warping from the engine heat.
That's what I've been told. I thought I might just try to lose it all but then I'm repainting
all the fairings and don't want the paint popping off from heat.

What do you think Fuzz? The foam that is stock is quite thick but I don't see what
something more space age could be lighter and thinner in application and still give the
same results.

You should call the rep on that.  They usually have a phne # on the container. After all that trouble, it would be pretty irritating to have to do it all over again.

Sorry for the confusion Fuzzy....I have never owned a muscle car but have a thing for large displacement motors and was referring to a Seinfeld episode.

I remeber the KZ1300/6 had foam on the underside of the fairing where it almost rested on the valve cover. 30 years and it was still holding up ok. Could this bew the same stuff?
