Yes another rim size question
« on: November 21, 2008, 05:50:35 PM »
Ok, I have searched and found good info. Thanks!

I already know not to pinch down tires (I own a RD too).
And it appears my 550F has 1.85 rims (bike is not with me now) front and rear.
So in having wheels built up with aluminum rims, could a larger tire fit?
I'm am thinking 2.15 front and 2.50 rear rims, for fitting 100/90 and 120/90.
Oh, 18" front and rear.
Is this resonable sizing?

Those are the size rims I use on a 550 with a 110 front and a 130 rear, although with a WM4 a 130 is about as large a tire as you can properly seat.

I also laced an 18" front. Keep in mind to keep your speedometer accurate you'll want to use a 400F speedo drive. (which uses an 18" front wheel as stock)
