Xmas came early

For my son, that is! His girlfriend put the down payment on this and he just picked it up today:











'08 Triumph Scrambler. Ted loves the old bikes. He was looking at an Enfield, but after looking at them real closely, decided against one. Went with the Triumph instead. Kid loves the old school bikes. Was a bit nippy for his 40mi ride home. Did get up to around 26F when by the time he left. Now he thinks we need a Polar Bear riding club.

A good bike mechanic only needs two tools, WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but should, use the WD40. If it does move but shouldn't use the duct tape.

Yeah, my fiancee rocks for doing the down payment, and yes all of her sisters are married!  ;)

The bike is fantastic, perfectly suited to a curvy back country road.  It's a bit quiet with the stock silencers though, which will change at some point.  Like my dad said, I looked at the Enfield, but honestly I didn't want a bike that would need constant work, and the fit and finish of the ones I saw (both old and new motors) was lacking.  Things like exposed wires, the finish of the switchgear, etc. just left me wanting a little more from it.  Plus the added power of the Triumph was great.  I'm definitely going to enjoy the bike, that's for sure!
