i recently installed a new custom tank and petcock from and earlier CB...my question is how do i run the fuel lines to the carb from the petcock? do i run 1 fuel line from the reserve to the carb and one from the main line to the carb? do i need a Y fitting?

Does your petcock have two outlets? (Main and Reserve?)

yes, my petcock has 2 outlets...

OK. So let's assume that these are main and reserve.

The 550 carbs have two pipe connections (the original petcock only had one outlet so a t-piece was required), so connect one pipe to each. The connections should be between 1/2 and 3/4

* Of course, the UK carbs might have been completely different so the above is all a load of b*****ks !!

Should work. The two connections are to a single feed that runs right through the carbs.

The two outlet petcocks are parallel feed. Connect one to the left fuel inlet to the carbs, and the other to the right inlet.

No, seriously, 2 questions:

1. Assume you have 1/2 tank of gas. Should fuel flow out of both of the pitcock outlets? Doesn't matter if it is in reserve or regular. Fuel flows out both outlets.

2. I have a small inline filter on one of the fuel lines. Is that original? seems silly to have a filter in that location downstream of the pitcock filter.

Yes. But, if you are watching it, gravity will make it look like the first exit from the log dominates. But, once flow stops at the first (from a filled pipe) the second one will flow as the first.

The stock ones have a filter in or on top of the petcock. (depends on model) No in-lines. I'm one of those that think the stock filters in proper working order are all you need. Others disagree, but can't explain the physics of needing two (or more) filters for the fuel. However, for whatever their reasons, they seem to be happier people with the arrangement.

cotter pin is what holds pushbike pedals on

petcock is private parts of whatever pet you got

Tripple trees is just under half of Sevenoaks

Blinkers is what horses wear

Gas is what comes out of other end of horse

As to parrallel its the way you have to park over here to pass youre driving test
