I think it's a good bet they will interchange.  As the petcocks on my 77 and 78 Cb550s are the same as on the 77-78 Cb750F.  I expect it was a part they used across the SOHC4 line.

Cheers,

That is good news since the '78 750F petcocks are getting harder to find :)

The thread diameter is the key point in whether it will fit or not. Earlier model F's had a different diameter and will not fit the later tanks. With this in mind, all the 78 petcocks(F and K) are discontinued while the 77K petcock is still available(according to CMSNL) and for whatever reason they don't show any F models in the cross-reference chart..

Not that it wouldn't work, just confirm the thread diameter before getting one.

When ya gonna ride that SuperSport up here to show it off,TT? ;) :)

Yes, the thread diameter is the most important.  If there is a difference otherwise, I expect it would be where the outlet pointed.  The 500CX petcock fits onto the F tank, filter and all.  The outlet points to a different direction, though.

I can't ride 'til June, after I'm off the Coumandin.  Any, internal injuries would mean death.  I don't want to make anyone overly happy.  So, I'm not riding.  But, I'm flinging the IROC around as the nearest substitute to two wheels. ;D

Good to hear from ya, Sean.  Hope things are going well for you.
