backfiring!?!
« on: September 26, 2005, 11:25:35 AM »
My 81 CB650 is backfiring every time I let off the gas or when I'm pulling the clutch in as I slow down.  I also have to keep the choke all the way out or it will die.  What should I do to get it running right?   ???

Sounds like an air leak.  Keeping the coke "out" (assume you mean closed) will richen up the mixture enough to keep it going.

Check the FAQs or search on "air leak"
