106K??  Jeez, that's barely broken in...

A co-worker of mine owned one for years and years.  It had ~175K when he got it and over 400K when he got rid of it.

Good luck with it.

My friend owns a 1971 Mercedes 220 diesel with 1300000km (over 812000miles) on it...
Original transmission and differential gear etc.
The engine was replaced once in the 80's but everything else is original.

the transmissions tend to get funky over 400k or so but theres millions of used ones out there. theyre slow on the take off but like a locomotive, once up to speed they just wont stop. and i love the seats in those cars too. i've been hunting for a late 70's/early 80's diesel wagon.

ya, they are real comfortable. well i dont know about the backseat in mine. the cd is the 2 door and those back seats almost dont count. i grew up with a diesel jeep in the family and i forgot just how smooth sounding they are.

Just curious, what kind of gas mileage do they get?
With the price of diesel now a days I'm wondering if there
economical.

I had a 1982 diesel nissan sentra 225,000 when I got it 400,000 when I gave it to my brother. the car ran great by the alt kept going out of it, I replaced it twice @ $300.

It was no race car, It had a nissin tow motor engine in it but it did get 50+ MPG on the hwy.

may not be good for her if her commute is short
the old diesels need alot of warmup

I suppose you talk about automatic transmissions?
My friends car has a manual transmission, like most cars here.
