Either he was stuck, or he was somehow using the bike to sheild him from the pavement until it slowed down.

I wonder why the guy that fell held on with his right hand so long.

Looking at the angle and the way he came off, I think it is possible that his hand got trapped between the brake lever and the bar.  Just my 2 cents though.  ;)

More than likely he was mad and didn't want to let go because he was planning to remount asap.

He'd have let go if there was something to slide into.... bikes always find a way to pin you between themselves and something hard!

I think that was probably why he was initially hanging on (too try to keep the bike running), but I think his hand does get trapped and is dragging him.  But again, all speculation on my part.

Yeah happened to me over the weekend, in my own driveway no less. The indignity of it all.
