I dunno, there's just some more "personal" about vinyl.
Sure, vinyl is more labor-intensive, but it seems like if you want to listen to vinyl, you're listening with purpose. It requires significantly more effort, but with that effort comes more appreciation for the music. CD's are more fire-and-forget... You pop a CD in and press a button and music starts playing until the album is over. It removes all human interaction from the equation.
