NOS 75 750 Gas Tank question...
« on: December 05, 2008, 02:30:36 PM »
I found myself a brand spankin' new 75 750 gas tank in planet blue metallic still in the Honda packaging.  My question...the tank is spotless inside but still has the Honda protective oil inside.  Once I find a bike to go with this tank, do I need to flush that oil out or just fill and run it?

I would put a quart or more of kerosene in the tank to mix with the oil. Then drain and rinse with new gas and drain again.  Then good to go.  If your still unsure........rinse with alchohol and drain. Then let it dry before adding new gas.

Good luck on the bike hunt. I sold a '75 last summer but still ride my K3.  Planning a trip to Bonneville and other points in the west for late next summer.  Dennis in Wisconsin
