Greetings!
« on: November 23, 2008, 01:04:26 PM »

Hello all!

Been lurking for quite a while now, picking up tidbits, time for an intro!

I've been riding a long time, since I was 19, but have been without a bike for the last couple years.  Late last year a 1972 CB 350 twin fell into my possession and I started making her run again.  Swapped in a replacement coil, newer stock looking exhaust, cables, and new rubber right away.  I'll post pics soon!  I've kept it stock and replaced or fixed what I could, next step is to Transistorize it!

I also purchased a cafe racer work in progress this past week.  A 76 CB 750, slightly modified so far, runs ok, hope to make it great and finish out the project this winter.

A big thanks to all who post and answer questions here.   ;D  I've learned what I needed so far by just reading up on other peoples problems and solutions!

Take care!

I put a quick pic of both bikes in the gallery, enjoy!

The 350 is a riot for a little bike, I'm almost done fine tuning how it runs and then I'll be 'done' with it.

I'm still going thru the 750, but I like it a lot so far.  Lot's of details to work out.

Oh, and Volks, man if my 750 turns out half as cool looking as yours, I'll consider the project a huge success!!!

That's a good looking rack on the 350 - what is it?

I believe it to be stock, or at least it was on the bike when I saw it first about 5 years ago, and has been ever since.

I'll look closer soon and see if it has any manufacturer stamps on it that may tell more.

The rims and the gauge rings were powder coated when I bought it.  New laces too.  It really looks sharp.

I'm glad they are done that way, I don't know if I have the stomach to pay what it likely cost!

I need to get the seat figured out and then I can paint the tank, seat and covers, that'll really set it off, it's just flat now.

my friend powder coated his rims in his viking kitchen oven.  it worked really well.
his wife was so pissed that he didnt get any lovin' for a month.  he said it was worth it.
...and the flat black is totally cool till you get the look your shooting for.
