1991 GSXR 750
« on: December 08, 2008, 10:41:11 AM »
Hey I just found a mint fully original 1991 GSXR 750 colours Red on White for $3250. Apparently it sat for 5 years in a barn before my local motorcycle wrecker found it, basically gave it a full clean and inspection and is selling with a clean title and safety inspection (basically ready for the road again)

Sorry I forgot to get the mileage LOL

Looks great but is it worth the price? :-\

Seems high to me. The CL in GTA tends to have Gixxers showing up all the time. I have seen mid to late 90's go in that price range. Of course those are private sales and not certified...

Yeah, that Cert. really helps the bike out.
It would depend on the mileage as well. Kelly Blue book says $2800 as retail for my area.

I went back and looked at the bike again.  After tax certified and ready to ride it would be $3700 then all I need is insurance. Obviously would store it the rest of winter and de-winterize it when I want it in the spring aswell so it doesnt seem like that bad of a deal, and it has little over 35000kms on it.  Also its an original in every way with exception of some fairing repair and by repair I mean the decals were replaced by a paint job- that matches the factory decals lol.

Good or bad deal? I dont know too much about the GSXRs but I like this one LOL.

From the sounds of the bike....i say get it man. You arent gonna get a better deal then that when you consider its ready to rock and roll right from the get go.

I joined the GIXXER.com forums or whatever they are... something like that and basically asked the same question and also if there were any issues with that year of bike I was looking at. They removed my post, and DELETED my entire forum account because I didnt actually own the bike yet but they said I could come back when I bought it and they would answer all my questions. Its not like they own f*(kin Ducati or Aprillia.... honestly....  >:(

I think I would be telling them that if you do buy a Gixxer there is no way in hell that you'd be back there anytime soon!

I also joined Gixer to try and get some opinions, I wasn't welcome. They kept telling me that I needed a differnt bike? I keep thinking of a Super Sport Tourer. Rather than take off weight and try to add power/suspension, why not start w/power and suspension then add some creature comforts?
I'm thinking of a naked bike w/small fairing, gel seat and comfortable ergos. The suspension can be adj for less that track speeds. Detuning the engine a little for street might be the biggest problem.
