2 quick, daft questions!
« on: September 28, 2005, 05:37:50 AM »
Should the petcock be turned to off when the bike is left overnight?
Should the engine be warmed up a little before riding?  Or does it damage the engine to sit for a minute or 2 to let it warm up?
Jim.

I personally  turn off the petcock anytime I turn off the ignition. Some warming I think is a good before taking off, and a miinute or two is not too long. Usually I need to warm it longer than that, particularly during the cooler months.

Jim,

I've also found that that first clunky shift into first gear can be deminished if you hold the clutch in for a few seconds, then goose the throttle and then let it settle back to an idle, seems to free the clutch plates.

In my opinion, the FAQ section is better as a read than as a troubleshooter. If you read through it you will understand lots of things that are related one to each other. I was just joking, I don't think anybody here mind answering questions, but if you are as beginner as you say you are I believe you should first understand the whole picture and then make the questions. Otherwise the answers will probably generate new questions...
