Oil Resistant Thread Lock
« on: December 08, 2008, 09:37:58 AM »
I am looking for a oil rated high temp thread lock for the main crank chain tensioner mounting bolt that is located in the lower case of my 750. I think Loctite 315 will work? Any suggestions from the members?

checked the loctite site last night, nothing on 315. ???

i believe loctite threadlockers are basically a plastic filler that, ah, fills the existing gap between threaded assemblies.  different hardnesses of the cured filler for different applications.  there are different product numbers for different bolt diameters too.  i used a red permanent loctite on my cam chain sprocket, then torqued the bolts.
