Way to go!  It's gotta be very satisfying to hear it roar after all your hard work.

it was definitly satisfying... and as for the roar.... It definitly needs something a little more tame than the non-baffled Mac muffler... that thing is stupid load.

that was the first kick that resulted in a fire.... the first 3 kicks resulted in a back fire (the Dyna signal wire were backwards so it was firing 180* out.... so that was technically the 4th kick..... but once the signal wires were in the proper place it DID start on the first kick... soooooo for the sake of it... it started on the first kick.

Thanks for the props everyone.

volks.. you got a PM

Man, Absolute money.

Sometimes I wish I would've started with a bike less rusted and ragged, but then I remember that it's about the journey - right?

Love the color scheme! I'll be flat blacking my rims and engine,  polishing my spokes, hubs, clutch cover, points cover, drive chain cover and carb tops and bottoms, and the breather cover.

I can't wait to see some more pics of your baby! Get those fins filed! I'm jealous of your painting abilities, as our 28 degree weather seems to disallow such action.

Thanks for the good words though... I will get some new pictures up this week. I am going to the local hydralic ship to see about getting stainless braided brake lines made up.... hopefully then i will be able to get her out on her first ride....

just a thought on the brake lines... do you have a harley "boutique" nearby? we ended up buying some there and they were actually a lot cheaper than having some made. they have diff lengths, angles of tips and sizes of banjo bolts already to plug and play as well as black or silver for colors. our other brands of bike shops didn't carry them at all and would have them custom made for 3x the price of harley. unusual that HD was cheaper but it happens.

can't wait to see more pics of the progress.  :)
1969 CL350 Scrambler... almost done!!! Well, until something else goes wrong. :)
2006 HD 883 Sportster, stock. No use changing it, it's still gonna be a Harley.

went to harley today... sorry cdoggy, i did see that post until just now... they said they didnt have anything with the proper banjo bolt size... and said they didnt have any lines short enough for my rear brake line.... I have another hole in the wall shop that might have the stuff that i need. The hydraulic shop said they didnt have banjo fittings... i might be ordering some i guess....

i have to build a seat obviously.... get my front brake line and install, strip the old paint off the tank and repaint semi-flat, build an LED tail light, finish up the final wiring, get some new rear shocks, fork oil, carb sync and proper tune. I'm almost there. it was just nice to ba able to get the bike out of the garage under its own power for once. last of my finals are this week then i have a week off to get some work done before summer school starts up.

I need to get supplies for building the seat. front brake line is ordered and should be here sometime next week. shes getting close very close..... sad thing is that i will have to pull the motor back out..... seems as if i have the leaky F2 valve guides... ill ride her until i get the money to send the head off to Mreick.
